In this month’s Fresh Catch video, Evan offers great advice to church communicators. Who needs David Beckham when there’s you, a vital member of the team?

Isn’t there another team in that league that is best know for its very intricate and confusing plays? I think they’re called the Hairballs.

Well said!
I love your perspective of the Communications Director helping the *Leadership* make big wins. I’m sure CDs will be called upon to make plenty of big wins themselves, but looking for ways to help your leadership make big wins–now we’re talkin’!
I would add to the discussion:
‘”Where to be on the field” is probably both “where you are in the leadership structure” as well as “having an ear to the ground” of where your people are.
There’s no better messenger than the one who knows her audience. To the extent she knows how her audience is currently feeling/motivated, she can craft the message from the giver to be best received and acted upon by the audience. It’s impossible as a mid-fielder to pass the ball down field (even if expertly kicked) if you don’t know where your forwards are…
